Welcome to peekaTorrent

One of the problems in digital forensics: drowning in data.

Our approach: making vast amount of data identifyable (even down to the sub-file level) by leveraging data from P2P filesharing networks. By harvesting chunk hash values from the BitTorrent network, we can so far identify up to 6.8 petabytes of publicly shared files. Under the hood, we build on the wonderful open-source tools bulk_extractor and hashdb.

On this site you can find all relevant information: our research paper as well as the data, ready to use.
